Psilocybin: A Personal Reflection on Promise, Responsibility and the Law
A careful personal reflection on psilocybin research, potential benefits, risks and South African law. No psilocybin services are offered or facilitated.
NEUROSCIENCE-INFORMED COACHING WITH AN ICF-CREDENTIALED COACH
Neuroscience-informed coaching uses relevant, responsibly interpreted insights about attention, emotion, habits, learning and behaviour to enrich the coaching conversation. It does not turn coaching into medical treatment, and it does not allow a coach to see or directly “rewire” a client’s brain.
WHAT IS EMDR-INFORMED WORK?
Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing, commonly known as EMDR, is a structured psychological approach developed for working with distressing memories and trauma-related symptoms. Evidence-based guidelines recognise EMDR as one of the psychological treatments that may be offered to adults with post-traumatic stress disorder when delivered by appropriately trained practitioners within a phased process.
PAST-LIFE REGRESSION: A REFLECTIVE AND SPIRITUAL EXPLORATION
Past-life regression is offered as a guided relaxation and imaginative or spiritual exploration. During the process, images, feelings, memories, symbols or stories may arise. Different people understand this material in different ways: spiritually, symbolically, metaphorically or as part of the imagination.
WHAT IS BODYTALK?
BodyTalk is a gentle, non-invasive complementary wellbeing practice. It is based on the BodyTalk system’s own framework, which invites attention to the body, personal experience and patterns that a person may wish to explore.
COMPLEMENTARY ENERGY-BASED PRACTICES: A CLEARER GUIDE
The phrase “energy healing” is used in many traditions, but it can mean different things to different people. At Healing Energy Therapy & Coaching, energy-based and spiritual practices are offered as complementary wellbeing and personal-development services. They are kept clearly separate from psychological counselling, EMDR-informed work and coaching.
HEART, MIND AND BODY COHERENCE: A PRACTICAL METAPHOR FOR ALIGNMENT
Coherence can be understood as a practical way of describing moments when our thinking, emotions and bodily experience feel less fragmented and more aligned. It is useful as a reflective framework, not as a promise that a particular exercise will optimise cellular function, immunity, blood pressure or protection from disease.
THETA-BASED RELAXATION AND REFLECTIVE PRACTICE
Theta-based practices are sometimes described using language about brain states, deep healing or subconscious reprogramming. A more responsible description is simpler: this is a guided relaxation and reflective practice that may involve breathing, focused attention, imagery and quiet awareness.
LEADERSHIP COACHING: A COLLABORATIVE SPACE FOR PURPOSEFUL DEVELOPMENT
Leadership coaching creates a structured space to think more clearly about how you lead, the choices in front of you and the impact you want to have. It is a collaborative developmental process grounded in reflection, challenge, experimentation and action.
SHADOW WORK: MEETING THE PARTS OF OURSELVES WE FIND DIFFICULT TO SEE
The word “shadow” is often used to describe feelings, needs, beliefs or behaviours that a person has learned to hide, reject or avoid. Shadow work is a reflective personal-development practice that creates space to notice these parts with greater honesty and compassion.
